The following pictures make repeating patterns through the use of either mirroring or edge blending.
Mirroring is a simple technique whereby an image is displayed normally, then flipped, then normally again, to make a contiguous pattern, similar to record scratching.
Blending is more sophisticated and subtle: the edges of a picture are blended together to approximate a continuous image; one edge is faded out where the other is faded in.
